Questions about abortion?

Medical Abortion

This type of abortion is also known as the “abortion pill” and involves taking medications to end a pregnancy. It typically consists of two different drugs: mifepristone, which blocks the hormone progesterone necessary for the pregnancy to continue, followed by misoprostol, which causes the uterus to contract and expel the pregnancy. Medical abortion is usually used up to 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Surgical Abortion

This procedure is performed in a clinic or hospital. There are a few different types of surgical abortions, but the most common is aspiration abortion, sometimes known as vacuum aspiration, which is typically used in the first trimester of pregnancy. This procedure involves dilating the cervix and using a suction device to remove the contents of the uterus.
