Making an adoption plan can be a difficult decision to make. It is important to remember that the decision is yours to make but we are here to support you if choose to place your child for adoption.
Making an adoption plan could be an option for you if you do not:
- want an abortion but are not ready to be a parent
- have the proper support system in place
- feel financially secure enough to have a child
- want to be pregnant while in school or focused on your career
Choosing to place your child is a courageous decision to make. While it may be a difficult journey, there will be beautiful moments along the way.
How does it work?
There are different types of adoption; open, semi-open and closed. An open or semi-open adoption allows a relationship between you, the adoptive family, and your child after placement. A closed adoption means there is no interaction between you and the adoptive family after the child is placed with it’s adoptive family. It is your choice to decide the plan for your pregnancy. An adoption counselor can work closely with you to determine if creating a placement plan may be right for you.
How do I know if an adoption plan is right for me?
The only way to know for sure if adoption is right for you is to get the facts about making a plan and make the decision for yourself. No matter what you choose for your unexpected pregnancy, the decision is yours to make. We are happy to connect you with the resources you need to make the best possible choice for you.
When you come in for an appointment with us, we can discuss adoption with you and put you in contact with an agency that can assist you in making a placement plan. No matter what reason you have for choosing an adoption plan, we will support you.
